Tarraye Sturgis is a dedicated community servant who continues to make meaningful contributions both professionally and personally. She earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice and, since graduating in 2019, has supported justice-involved youth and young adults. Tarraye brings valuable experience to New Beginning Family Services, also drawn from her role as a Social Worker and Case Manager at the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Aging Adults with Physical Disabilities.
Her work focuses on offering advocacy, redirection, life coaching, and fostering family and relationship restoration, with a special emphasis on education and holistic support. Tarraye is passionate about guiding youth through challenges and helping them build stability.
Tarraye facilitates both group and individual sessions centered on social-emotional learning, empowering youth and young adults in areas such as emotional regulation, self-awareness, goal setting, cultivating healthy relationships, and more. Her clinical interests also extend to women's mental health and helping families navigate relational and interpersonal challenges.
Currently, Tarraye serves as a Youth Advocate, offering wrap-around services to young people navigating the justice system. She is pursuing a Master of Social Work at Delaware State University, with a goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Additionally, she has completed several trainings and certifications in trauma-informed approaches, suicide prevention and family engagement.
